What your job will be like:
As a member of the Cryogenics Department, your responsibilities will include maintaining, rebuilding, and operating various types of rotating and reciprocating machines such as helium screw compressors, helium reciprocating expansion engines, helium turbines, lubricating oil pumps, and all associated components.

In this role you will…

  • Maintain, rebuild, and operate various types of rotating and reciprocating machines such as helium screw compressors, helium reciprocating expansion engines, helium turbines, lubricating oil pumps, and all associated components
  • Maintain vacuum systems to ensure uninterrupted availability of cryogenic systems
  • Assist in the daily operations of several large helium refrigeration plants
  • Start/stop machinery, monitor systems, open/close valves, and receive bulk deliveries of gaseous helium and liquid nitrogen as needed
  • Work on-call and respond to after-hours operational emergencies as needed

Qualifications We Require:


  • High School Diploma


  • 2 years experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Work well with other technicians and contractors
    Knowledge of proper use of hand tools, hardware, and power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret system drawings and machinery manuals
  • Familiarity with machinery alignment tools
    Familiarity with rotating machinery repair
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to complete training required of the Cryogenics Group, such as, but not limited to: forklift, crane and rigging, ODH, Radiation Worker I, and Lockout/Tagout
  • Ability to work on-call and respond to after-hours operational emergencies.
