As an IT Project Manager for Jefferson Lab, you will be part of a team responsible for the successful deployment of company-wide IT projects. Jefferson Lab has embarked on a multi-year plan to substantially improve our business systems and processes, and the IT Project Manager role will be critical to ensure the success of this plan. This senior role will work closely with the MIS team and customers in the business areas to develop project requirements, research and select the best solution, plan and organize the project roll-out, and implement solutions to meet organizational short and long-term needs. In this role you will:

  • Partner with customers to develop and document general requirements for major IT projects identified and prioritized by the IT Governance process at Jefferson Lab. Use project management techniques to ensure successful planning, implementation, and roll-out of approved and funded projects.
  • Work with IT system vendors to identify potential solutions. Develop vendor relationships and work with customers to select vendors that meet both division/department requirements and that fits into the overall Lab IT architecture.
  • Develop project plans, resourcing/cost estimates, and project risk registers for presentation to the Lab IT Governance board, for planning, prioritization and project status/risk management updates.
  • Work with customers and vendors to develop, track and manage project budgets, schedules, scope and detailed requirements for the duration of each IT project. Identify issues, obstacles, and options that may be required to ensure successful implementation of the project. Work with team members, vendors, staff and management to mitigate project risk.
  • Work with the MIS team and customers to leverage technical in-house experience/skills and develop resourcing plans/contracts to fill resourcing needs outside of the Lab's in-house capabilities.
  • Develop and implement plans for change management throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful project rollout. As part of change management, work with customer to develop and implement communication and training plans to help transition the Lab to new systems and processes.
  • Responsible for project completion, implemented with solutions that meet the overall goal of the project.


Qualifications We Require:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or any appropriate/related field.

    Experience:

    • 10 Years relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education, experience, and relevant training.

        Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

          • Demonstrated experience successfully leading or playing key role in a major IT system implementation project resulting in relevant technical foundation.
          • Substantial experience using project management techniques, principles, and tools.
          • Excellent verbal and written communication & interpersonal skills.
          • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
          • Detail and results oriented, with ability to multi-task and function in a fast-paced environment.
          • Ability to independently solve problems and demonstrated initiative beyond assigned scope.

          Qualifications We Desire:

          • Demonstrated experience successfully leading or playing key role in an HRIS/HCMS implementation project (Workday, PeopleSoft, UKG, other similar).
