What your job will be like:

The RF Technician Supervisor is responsible for coordinating work within the assigned area, including scheduling, planning, and reviewing Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) protocols, as well as completing the installation and maintenance of all RF equipment, staging, preparation, and storage areas. Additionally, this role involves leadership and management responsibilities, including supervision, maintaining technical goals, and working effectively with others to complete tasks successfully.

In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for the coordination of installation and upgrade projects or multiple, complex tasks, including HPRF and LLRF in CEBAF.
  • Implement work planning tools and documentation (ePAS, ATlist, MSD) for all tasks, especially as they apply to Hazardous Energy control.
  • Be responsible for managing and supervising of RF technician support for CEBAF, LERF, UITF, CMTF, and special projects.
  • Update documentation to ensure schematics, wiring diagrams, procedures, and associated documents are current and accurate.
  • Troubleshoot RF and electronic systems, identify technical problems when systems fail and propose remediation options and schedules, coordinating work with Operations and the RF Group members.
  • Be responsible for implementing JLAB Hazardous Energy Control and safety policies (Lock Out Tag Out) and ensuring the RF technician staff is trained and up to date as qualified electrical workers.

Qualifications We Require:

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Experience:

  • 12 years of relevant electronic experience

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Must have strong technical knowledge of electronics and RF systems and processes.
    • Broad understanding/technical awareness of electrical engineering principles and technologies. Familiarity with RF systems and accelerator operational requirements at Jefferson Lab is desirable.
    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot RF and/or electronic systems, identify technical problems when systems fail and propose remediation options and schedules, coordinating work with Operations and the RF Group members.
    • Must have experience managing and supervising electronic technicians.
    • Ability to negotiate with other groups, service providers, collaborators and vendors for time, access, and labor.
    • Strong technical and administrative knowledge of systems and processes, enabling complex troubleshooting and problem-solving solutions.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    Education:

    • Associates Degree in Electronics
    • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering

    Experience:

    • Other equivalent military electronic experience and training.
