What your job will be like:
As a Work Planning and Control Assistant Administrator for the Electronic Permit Administration System (ePAS), you will oversee the ePAS application and maintenance of Jefferson Lab specific data sets required for continuous functionality. These include data sets for hazards and controls, roles and responsibilities, plant items and isolation points, and the information related to staff qualifications and to lab organization. You will interface with other Work Planning and Control Administrators, Subject Matter Experts, Division Safety Officers, and others who provide data for ePAS and ensure data integrity and overall ePAS configuration control. Assist in developing and maturing work planning and control practices at the laboratory.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as point of contact for ePAS at Jefferson Lab.
  • Track ePAS project implementation and provide information for routine status reports.
  • Maintain the ePAS webpage and develop timely content.
  • Provide an electronic “helpline” to provide timely answers to questions about ePAS application and function.
  • Update and maintain the ePAS system functionality as global system administrator and assist with troubleshooting ePAS application problems.
  • Consult with SMEs to ensure that HIRA remains current and reflects ES&H Manual Chapter 2410T1 requirements.
  • Consult with Division Safety Officers and ensure that system roles and responsibilities are properly reflected.
  • Work with the laboratory lessons learned coordinator to ensure that external lessons learned information is incorporated into ePAS and lessons learned information developed in ePAS is available to the coordinator.
  • Maintain the ePAS Plant Item Tool dataset used for routine plant item integration with ePAS.
  • Assess, develop, implement, and mature Work Planning & Control practices at the laboratory.
  • Coordinate with FM&L IT resources to ensure that the ePAS Plant Item Tool is current with respect to MAXIMO data resources.
  • Assist Performance Assurance Office with availability and access to audit features of ePAS.
  • Work with lab training resources to formulate, develop and deliver training courses for focused ePAS training needs.
  • Liaise with other laboratories on work planning and control practices.

Qualifications We Require:

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science or a closely related technical area.
  • Relevant experience may be substituted for education.

Experience:

  • 5 or more years relevant experience is required of which 3 or more years must be in work planning and control practices.
  • Education above the minimum may be substituted for experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Able to communicate clearly in writing and explain work to others.
  • Ability to use Enterprise WP&C software is preferred.
  • Ability to use ePAS software is preferred.
  • BCSP - Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification upon hire is preferred.
