Join our Cryogenics Department as a Cryogenics Systems Manager to lead a multi-lab team in developing cryogenic systems for the Electron-Ion Collider Project (EIC). This team is responsible for engineering, designing, procuring, installing, commissioning, and transferring to operations a series of cryogenic systems.

In this role you will:

  • Direct and coordinate the overall, integrated cryogenics scope, cost, schedule and deliverables as set by the Project Director.
  • Execute the approved cryogenics scope of work within the allocated budget and schedule baseline constraints.
  • Manage project risks and risk handling plans related cryogenics as identified in the EIC Risk Registry.
  • Review project planning, scheduling and cost estimating for the EIC cryogenic systems.
  • Approve all cryogenic systems related change control proposals.
  • Act as the Design Authority for the cryogenic systems scope of work.
  • Chair and approve outcome of Conceptual, Preliminary, and Final Design Reviews and procurement Readiness Reviews as necessary to ensure a high-quality design that meets the technical performance specifications of the EIC.
  • Ensure that all work in the EIC cryogenic systems is in accordance with EIC ES&H policies and procedures.
  • Participate as a member of the EIC Change Control Board.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the relevant technical areas of large-scale technical systems

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective communicator.
  • Ability to work effectively with peers.
  • Ability to develop and train a strong technical staff.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • PMI certification
  • Knowledge and experience in cryogenic plant design and operation, or industrial process plant design and operation
  • DOE O413.3 or US government related project experience
