Jefferson Lab is seeking a motivated team member to provide technical/electrical support to the physics division spectrometer support group.

In this role you will:

  • Work from schematics to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on power supplies and other electrical systems
  • Participate in on-call support for halls during experimental runs
  • Interface new systems with hall infrastructure
  • Work with users and hall staff to facilitate installation of equipment

Qualifications We Require:

Education

  • High School Diploma

Experience

  • 9 or more years relevant experience (Education above the minimum may be substituted for experience)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Able to provide input to schedule development
  • Identify conflict and develops solutions
  • Knowledge of theory, design, and techniques used at component and system levels
  • Significant latitude in prioritizing and choosing work methods
  • Knowledge of the safe and proper use of hand tools, hardware, power tools
  • Knowledge of the safe and proper use of electrical diagnostics equipment such as multimeters, meggers, etc.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of soldering iron and soldering wires and electronic components
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, controls enclosure drawings and equipment manuals
  • The ability to safely troubleshoot and understand operation of electrical equipment
  • The ability to complete required training such as: Qualified Electrical/Electronics Worker, ODH, Radiation Worker I, and Lockout/Tagout
