What Your Job Will Be Like:
Become a member of our securities team at Jefferson Lab. Working under minimal supervision, the Site Protection Supervisor performs a variety of activities in support of functional areas of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Safeguards and Security Program (S&S) including the Physical Protection, Protective Force and Design Basis Threat sub-programs. The Supervisor serves as the Subcontracting Officer's Technical Representative (TR) responsible for day-to-day operations of the unarmed security services subcontractor protective force, and other assigned personnel.

The supervisor is responsible for identifying physical security vulnerabilities, assessing risk, implementing corrective actions and ensuring compliance with DOE directives, relevant laws and regulations. This position is responsible for performing a full range of administrative and management functions to include system(s) record audits, quality control, preparing budgeting projections, project scheduling, performance evaluations and statistical reports as required.

Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a security access authorization as necessary.

In this role you will:

  • Supervise Jefferson Lab unarmed security service subcontractor operations to ensure high quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Implement effective methods and procedures to achieve and sustain high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee personnel involved in the daily maintenance and quality assurance of deployed physical security systems.
  • Assist the manager with development and maintenance of assigned Safeguards and Security Program (S&S) plans, procedures and associated training courses.
  • Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
  • Develop and manage effective special event plans to ensure appropriate security and safety measures are taken to mitigate operational risks.

Qualifications We Require:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (Relevant experience may be substituted for education)

Experience

  • 5 or more years Relevant Experience (Education above the minimum may be substituted for experience)
  • 3 or more years Supervising Personnel required
  • History of working safely and understanding of ergonomic safety.
  • Experience with special event planning and coordination
  • Experienced crisis or incident response manager
    • Experience performing physical security vulnerability assessments to evaluate risk
    • Experience developing policies and procedures in a high compliance environment

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    • Thorough working knowledge of the principles and practices of service subcontract management.
    • Understanding of federal Service Wage Act concepts and relevant Executive Orders governing federal contractor wage and benefits.
    • Excellent knowledge of industrial physical security procedures and practices.
    • Proficiency in office computer systems and software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
