What your job will be like:

Jefferson Lab’s ESH Division is seeking a Radiation Control Tech I to maintain an environmentally sound and safe workplace through efforts within RadCon to develop and implement improvements in process efficiency, documentation, and other departmental goals. Come and join our team!

In this role you will:

  • Work off-hours, weekends and overtime as required by management
  • Perform calibration on various radiation instruments in accordance with written procedures
  • Use computer to maintain and track accurate documentation to completion
  • Provide support for any field related rad monitoring installations and removals
  • Maintain adequate instrument availability to support field operations/surveys and spares
  • Participate in development and implementation of improvements in process efficiency, documentation, and other departmental goals
  • Participate in laboratory initiatives and programs such as Safety Warden Program and represent RadCon on relevant committees as feasible

Qualifications We Require:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Degree with 2 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates basic knowledge and ability in electrical/electronic technology.
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuitry, ability to read basic schematics.
  • Basic skills related to electronic troubleshooting and repair such as soldering and use of measurement and test equipment.
