What your job will look like:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this senior role will lead both the Human Resources Division Partnership and Talent Acquisition program for Jefferson Lab. The Senior HR Manager of HRDP and Talent Acquisition will apply strengths in strategic planning and execution to drive growth and positive change during a dynamic and exciting time at the lab. The Senior HR Manager is a strategic partner to the laboratory that managers and delivers a suite of activities which include employee relations, performance management, succession planning, talent assessment, workforce planning and all human resource matters.

In this role you will...

Manage a team of HRDPs to deliver best in class support of tactical and strategic HR programs related to talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Be a champion for the lab’s mission and culture, both as a role model with initiatives to help us scale and strengthen our culture as we grow
  • Develop and execute a lifecycle approach to talent management by assessing organizational performance systemically, defining talent gaps and proposing solutions in support of the mission
  • Exhibit analytical problem-solving skills, and executing to the high degree of accuracy and quality with respect to strategic reporting
  • Create, communicate, facilitate, and present complex written materials and information cogently to and/or for all stakeholder levels
  • Proactively identify workforce trends and provide relevant business insights, using data, tools, analytics and resources to drive decision making and action
  • Manage outreach strategy to establish the lab’s presence in identified markets as well as minority serving and underrepresented institutions
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and foster deep working relationships with senior leaders, to provide strategic guidance
  • Research and develop policies, guidelines, and programs in order to proactively support employees and managers while also balancing the needs of the lab
  • Oversee and execute the full life cycle sourcing and recruitment strategy incorporating and aligning with Operational KPIs
  • In partnership with division management and HR L&D, drive succession planning efforts to increase retention and career pathing options
  • Mediate and resolve complex issues
  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations, provide recommended follow up actions, and execute on any needed actions, as necessary
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Balance HR business partner management responsibility with employee advocacy to build and foster a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.


Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications We Require:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field and,

Experience:

15 years combined related Human Resources experience as an HR Manager, Talent Acquisition Leader, HR Generalist, HR Business Partner or Recruiter or the equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

Preferred Qualifications:

PHR or SPHR Certification

Experience in an R&D setting is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience leading a robust talent acquisition program
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team of HR Generalists, HRBPs, Employee Relations specialists and/or Talent Acquisition professionals
  • Adept at using analytical data and information to build a compelling narrative for change or to influence decision makers
  • Convey written and verbal messages to a variety of audiences in an organized, compelling and strategic manner
  • Conduct performance analyses of actual results against targeted activities
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy to resolve sensitive issues
  • Strong judgement skills necessary to investigate complaints, advise on performance management, identify problems, and recommend solutions
  • Superb writing skills with the ability to concisely convey arguments and points of persuasion as well as policy development
  • Ability to design and execute programs that meet the needs of the organization
  • Proven ability to influence various levels of leadership without direct authority in both an in person and virtual environment
  • Solid expertise in developing solutions based on facts/data analytics
  • Seamlessly transition between strategic thinking and tactical execution
  • Strong conflict management and resolution skills
  • Ability to prioritize the most impactful work amidst multiple competing priorities
