What your job will be like:
The incumbent will work in the RF group within the Accelerator Engineering Services department. The individual will participate in maintaining equipment and infrastructure, testing performance of Low Level RF (LLRF) equipment (RF receivers, analog and digital instrumentation), High Power RF (HPRF) equipment (High voltage power supplies, klystrons, and solid state amplifiers), installation of new and advanced RF systems, interpreting system requirements and assist in the development of new systems. The candidate will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, computer scientists, technicians, and accelerator operators to support operation of the machine. Under general supervision, the incumbent will be trained for real-time support, repair, and testing. The person in this position will be responsible for following safety guidelines, system documentation, and repairs for Low Level RF equipment, High Power RF equipment, firmware/software verification, RF measurements, and data analysis. The incumbent will also be involved in the daily operations of the RF systems including, system monitoring, testing of LLRF and HPRF systems after repair, Hot checkout of components after maintenance periods. The incumbent is responsible for documenting their work in operations logbooks, maintenance records, "as built" drawings and any other forms as required by management. The incumbent will work under general supervision of an Electrical Engineering supervisor and complete assigned tasks utilizing work control documents and safety procedures.
